I've had him for 1.3 years and he's in a 40L tank, the parameters are ph- 7.4-7.8, am- 0-0.25, no²-0 and no³- 10. These parameters are from yesterday.
Sorry for the approximate parameters, the api test kit colours can be so hard to differentiate sometimes.
His appetite is fine, but recently he's been sitting at the top of the tank a lot more frequently when he used to prefer the bottom. I'm not sure if you can see it in the pictures but he's lost a little but of colour on his chest area.
He also has a scar on his nose that he got about a year ago and my guess was that he scraped his face or burnt it somehow. I kept an eye on for a while and he didnt seem bothered by it and it never spread or seemed infected/ irritated so I didnt see it necessary to treat anything.
He's also lost some of his spike like fins, but that could have been because he loves hiding under the wood in his tank.
He gets 4 pellets of the food pictured in the morning. Not your typical food i know, but I like the ingredients list better than a lot of the other food options hence why I picked it.
He used to have a bad problem with bloat, I think I was over feeding him slightly so I reduced his feeding to the 4 pellets but I'm thinking of increasing it again to help him gain weight back whilst keeping an eye out for any signs of bloat.
I guess I'm hoping that anyone that's had any similar experiences or knows what might be going on with him can give me some advice? I'm pretty worried.
I thought I was doing everything right, I'd feel incredibly guilty if this is my fault.

It’s showing 4 of this post for me? I’ve tried deleting the other ones but they keep popping back up so I apologise if it’s happening for others too
I can tell you this is due to bad genetics. You can try epsom salt balts to see if it helps.
