Okay so when I caught this bass.. I thought it would be much bigger because he fights so hard. Is it normal for bass? Are they strong and fight back in general?

Exactly why bass fishing is fun, especially on lighter tackle. They can hit hard. They fight. They run. They jump multiple times. Every fight is a little different. I’ve caught a ton of bass that felt way bigger than they were when I landed them.
Keep chasing the big ones, but enjoy all the small and medium sized ones you catch along the way.
