The most relevant info for you is that this gold tab is the line keeper. You just tuck the line under it. You can wrap it twice if you really want to make it secure. But there is no need to wind it all around the handle and bail.

Sedona’s aren’t a bad reel. Sort of mid range below Nasci. I have a 2500 but it looks different to that, mine is more silver not with the gold like that. Maybe that is an older model?
It’s pretty quality. About 20 lb drag. Kind of like the NASCI except you gotta for sure for sure wash it after every salt water fishing trip.

That is a great reel for a beginner. You are fine to pair it with the Ugly stick you mentioned. Enjoy it, learn on it. Don’t feel bad about using it hard.
You probably want to oil that reel if you don’t otherwise know its condition. 2500 size is good for 8 to 30lb line. If you don’t know what line this is, you might want to re-spool it. Saltwater is fine, but it needs to be cleaned after use.

It would help if you told us what the name is on the reel …2500 suggests inshore spinning reel but can’t read the name
Shimano Sedona 2500.
It’s a solid mid range all purpose reel. Pair it with a 6’6 medium fast rod and you’ve got a good do it all set up.
Zebco Tangled-AF2500 🙂
