So I ordered a floating pumpkin from an Etsy seller to replace my betta log. The openings are so sharp that I cut my finger, I contacted the seller and politely asked for a refund. I offered to send the item back. Seller says it’s not an Etsy policy to refund shipping, which isn’t true. I owned an Etsy shop for 5 years. He said he was reporting me to Etsy. I sent photos of the item, you can tell from the photos it’s jagged, this would absolutely tear my fish’s fins up. I’ve never had an experience like this and I’ve never spoken to a customer in such a manner, so bummed out. Am I in the wrong here? I paid for an item that is not safe for its intended use.

  1. However if you do not wish to argue with this person then i recommend taking a nail file and trying to file down the sharp bits or just keeping them as decoration for outside your tank.

  2. charging for a SHARP 3d print is insane. your 3d prints have to be perfect before entertaining charging people for the products

I’m on my phone but the print quality looks too low to sell to begin with from what I’m seeing.

  4. I don’t have enough experience with 3D printing. I was trying to find something smoother than a betta log, my plakat is so big she shoves her log around and scratches up her face. 😬 I was trying to find a safer solution.

Ive only ordered from etsy a handful of times in my life. The hermir crab community will damn near lynch you if you recommend any other shell source than this app lmao. Etsy is far too expensive and tbh I trust Amazon and my local expos more. Especially after seeing interactions like this happen. Too often, people will see a quick money grab and hop on any band wagon they can. Etsy is an over saturated “DIY market” full of people who throw crap together that have no passion for what theyre creating bc its popular and they can make a quick buck. Ive found a few things here and there Id like to order but at the prices and shipping prices, eh i can live without. I dont blame you a bit for this nor do i think you were in the wrong.

  6. Glad you’re sending it back because your betta does not need artificial accoutrements. Natural is the way to go.
