I am fairly new to the beta world. I literally cannot tell if he is stress swimming and glass surfing or if he is just an extremely active and happy betta? Is this behavior normal? He basically does this all day. Please help!

He’s not flaring and his colors are nice and bright, i’d say he’s just swimming for the sake of it, they instinctively patrol along their territory and when they see the one that feeds them, they’ll try to get the attention of that person.
I’d not say he’s stressed and his body language doesn’t look ‘fighty’, if you go to the opposite end of the room, does he still do it? If not he wants your attention or it’s his way of begging for food (they can very convincingly try to guild you into feeding them more than you should).
Not what u asked but please get rid of that gravel it becomes toxic for fish. The plants as well as they can rip fins! Silk and live plants are recommended
