Aside from salt baths is there anything else that can help fin rot? I’m not even sure what this could really be. A very bad case of fin nipping that caused the fins to tear. I just know the basics of betta care when it comes to this since it’s never happened to me but this little guy was taken in by my partner when they went out of state & stopped by at a petsmart, fin clamped & looked very sad but we didn’t expect his fins to be like this which is why we want to help but is there anything better than can help him?

  1. Honestly his fins look okay to me besides being a little ripped and uneven at the edges, which is very common for halfmoons and similar (and they do grow back slowly, to an extent). They’re not clamped or rotting and his color is vibrant. However, you do have him in with neon and rummynose tetras, which are notorious fin nippers. I can say from personal experience that they do not make good betta tankmates, much less long-finned ones. If at all possible, please separate him into his own tank.

He doesn’t look to have much wrong, that a couple months in his own tank, away from your other fish if possible, will sort out.

    He is very handsome.
