Betta Fish: Alright I’m giving Betta keeping a final try. Everyone, meet Dave.

He is my third Betta this year. I know that's ridiculous.

This is my set up:

9 gal Fluval
Heater
Live plants/wood

Other live stock include:

3 rasboras
Red Shrimp (10ish)
1 black mystery snail

Water parameters: good

The water parameters were good with my last two Bettas as well I'm not sure why they died. One came from a local pet store another from a big box store.

I'm giving it one final try. I really enjoy Bettas so I'm hoping Dave is around for a while.

My first one lived for 6 months, started to bloat. I moved it to a hospital tank for two weeks it was doing great then I moved it back into the gen pop and it died 3 days later. The snail started to eat her.

The second one lived for 2 months. The entire time I had this Betta I never saw it eat one time. I think it was hunting and surving off the baby shrimp that just hatched but after they got two big it's food source ran out and it starved. I continued to try and feed it with zero success. (Flakes, grannuals, live food, frozen food, shrimp bits, etc)

So, I guess, with me luck. I'd really love to have this Betta for a long time.
