Just your Java fern looking to grapple onto things and spread itself.
Once they grow some decent roots you could put them into your substrate and you’ll get new plants.
It’s putting out sprouts of baby ferns, complete with their own root systems. Java fern reproduces the same way in aquariums, but this plant is actually an El Niño fern rather than a Java fern.
