So about a month ago I got my two female bettas in a 54 liter tank. Back at the pet shop they lived in the same aquarium, together with other female bettas. Per shop worker (and some online resources I've been reading at the time) convinced me that two females should be fine with other if provided with right conditions. And they did get along well for the first week or so, until Perła (the white one) started chasing and biting her roommate. She's been doing it ever since (you can't see it on video, she doesn't do that all time plus they probably think I'm going to feed them). It's not extremely vicious and she has her calmer periods, but she can also be pretty unrelenting, doing several laps across the aquarium in pursuit. Nagar (colorful one)wasn't seriously hurt so far, except several times I've woken up to find her with a ripped fin. I think this environment is stressful for both fish (especially Nagar) and am considering returning Perła to the pet store. On the other hand I've grown pretty attached to her and have doubts. Am I overreacting or should I separate them at once?

I would separate them at once. I think the tank is too small for more than one female and betta sororities are very difficult in general from what I read. And two is the worst number of aggressive/territorial animals to try and keep together; that will never work.
Do you have enough plants and hiding spots for them?
They can get hostile if not having enough hiding spaces and barriers to seperate themselves behind.
I have a sorority and my tank is heavily planted they’re all fine, barely interact or go near each other until feeding time.
You should return one. Also, 2 is not an ideal number for a sorority.
You could also put a divider in the tank.Maybe you could find one with holes big enough to let the other fish through. Just be careful with that approach.Because betas are really good at trying to fit in spots. They can’t and getting stuck
