(Not their forever tank! Please be kind..)
Sorry about the image quality they’re screenshots from a video.. the last photo was what he looked like when I got him.. no spots.. they don’t look like ich spots and I’ve been recently treating for potential fin rot on one of my angels.. I’ve been meaning to seperate him into a hospital tank but I haven’t had the chance.. Ive been using tonic at half strength as to not irritant my rainbow shark or snail.. could the tonic be doing this to him?!
He doesn’t seem stressed. And for a couple days my waters ph jumped up to 7.8?? I went and bought some ph down, tested again and it was back down to 7.0-7.2??? Does anyone have any idea whats going on.. I haven’t used the tonic for a week in case that’s what causing the spots.. ;;
Parameters: ph 7.2, ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm, nitrate 5ishppm.

What tonic?
All snails need ph above 7.4, ph down and similar products make the ph swing and stress out your animals.

Ive been using this tonic
ich. no drugs necessary. raise temp to 87ºF. keep it there for four weeks. should be fine 🙂
don’t know what the ‘tonic’ is, but anything labeled as a ‘tonic’ shouldn’t be near your tank 😉
86º kills ich, but has diff stages in life cycle where it can’t be killed-hence the long time frame. fish can deal w/ even higher temps just fine. hence 87ºF.
increase the circulation a bit (extra airstone/pump). ich chokes gills, and higher temp water holds less oxygen.
it’s the most common disease in aquariums, and easiest to treat.
your shark also seems to have a mild skin infection (the grayish patches/’spots’). make sure you’re not overfeeding. that shark’s a tad obese, indicating over feeding, which, with a lack of appropriate water changes, can lead to a more septic environment=bacterial infections.

Almost all meds are toxic to snails, you should separate the fish to use medication. You can just use a plastic tub as a hospital
