Hey everyone, kinda confused about what’s going on with my cycle.
My tank’s been running for about 15 days. Everything seemed to be going fine, ammonia was at 0, nitrite had dropped to around 0.05, and nitrate was around 10. A few days before that, nitrite had peaked at about 0.5 and then slowly went down, so I figured I was almost done cycling.
Then I accidentally dropped some Seachem Purigen beads into the tank (yeah, great moment 😅), had to siphon a bunch to get them out, and ended up doing a ~40% water change. That was actually my first water change since starting the cycle.
Now my tests show:
• Ammonia: 0
• Nitrite: 0
• Nitrate: 0
I even tossed in a bit of fish food to feed the bacteria, but it’s still 0/0/0 the next day.
So… did I mess up my cycle with that big clean-up, or is it just fully cycled now and everything’s being processed right away? I don’t understand why I see no nitrates anymore.

Well… The easiest way to tell would be to add ammonia directly and test it after 24 hours. It seems possible that you are actually cycled if there’s no uptake of ammonia.
tank is beautiful, i love the little stick trees, did you make them or were they purchased that way?
