Not sure what other plants I can put on the sand substrate?

As small as that tank seems to be, you wouldn’t want to add many more plants. Better option is to allow the plants to spread out as they will naturally.
What would make this tank look better at this point…is the fish.

I think some floaters with long roots could help fill it out a lot without being to obstructive. Maybe some water lettuce or frogbit đ
