Are all algae eaters just rude af to their tankmates?!
(To add, the mates aren’t in distress but if I was a fish shrimp or snail I’d be very annoyed lmao)

Mine had a personal vendetta against my gouramis as soon as he saw them. Had to separate them in the end

Chinese algae eaters usually get aggressive as they get older. You may have to separate them. My grandma bought one for her angel fish tank, told her it was a bad idea but she insisted, ended up having to buy another 60 gallon tank just for the algae eater. 😅

Mine is named “Sidney”.
Mercedes Lackey, the author of the Valdemar series of books, had a character in the foundation of Valdemar trilogy. Sidney was a cat who was a bit of a jerk. So much so that he was referred to in the trilogy as “Sidney you asshole.”
And since mine is an asshole, he earned that name and wears it well.

Get this thing out of your tank. I had 2 and they were so aggressive that they killed one of my tertras by sucking off his slime coating. Literally cleaned the scales right off him.
