Betta Fish: need advice on my bettas tank :)

I’ve had my elephant ear male – arlo for a week or two now, I know he needs lots more plants but they have been delayed in shipping since they were supposed to come in weeks ago. and I couldn’t find any in store. (I ordered an Amazon sword , 3 anubis, 2 Java ferns , and 2 leaf suction that will go on the sides for him to rest. and I have two spider plants on the top with only the roots in and I have moss on the bottom of the tank.) I feed him everyday and I test the water and do a 25% water change everyday 1-2 days and 50% every weekend. I also have a heater that stays on 78 and a filter set on the softest water flow. aside from plants- what else should I add? I want the best life for this little guy
