What is the cause? Why is the shell only missing in that spot? And I would like to know how to fix it too. Baby snails have been like this since they were tiny đ
I raised it in a cement pond.
Is it because there are too many of us? Or is there not enough nutrients?

Cleft, it’s genetic or caused by injury. Do not let any more eggs hatch and do not let them mount each other, the bottom snail will get injured worse. All of them having it means it’s genetic.
This is a cleft shell, which can be caused by a lot of things. However, since so many snails have it, this is highly likely due to genetics. It will worsen as the snails age and their shells grow. Unfortunately, this is not something that can be fixed. You can make sure there is enough minerals in the water and the water conditions are healthy to help with their shell growth, but ultimately it’s not something that will heal. If these snails continue breeding, they will keep passing it on. You can separate the snails, let them live out their days by themselves to make sure this doesn’t continue. But that’s a lot of tanks to take care of, and eventually the snails will suffer in their old age. I purchased a mystery snail from a LFS with a small cleft without realizing it before taking her home. I grew attached and couldn’t euthanize her, she lived for a year… But a lot of her flesh ended up becoming exposed. It was clear she was suffering and eventually I had to do it. It’s hard to hear, but the best thing you can do in this situation is euthanize the affected snails. Continue to euthanize new snails with cleft shells, and introduce new snails for genetic diversity.
