Found this little guy at my local fish farm any idea why it's so big compared to the average betta fish

    That may be a giant betta incorrectly labeled as a normal one. Giant bettas are mainly the plakat variety, which he seems to be. There are others, but they are mainly imported. (like a giant Thai veil tail I saw once) I just learned they exist earlier this year, and I haven’t purchased one because they tend to be much more expensive when correctly labeled. Their care is just about the same as regular bettas, but the minimum tank size is 10 gallons instead of 5.
