I’m so frustrated with this planted tank. The water parameters are fine according to the fish store. Every time I put a plant in here it just melts and dies within a few days. Please help. (Bonus pic of the tenant at the end)

your substrate is inert, do you use any fertilizers or root tabs?
Welcome to my world. I had the same issue. Parameters were perfect and used the tabs.
Aquarium soil – then top with gravel or sand , try not to disturb roots when cleaning. Tabs and liquid ferts, trim brown leaves off – cut close to main stem and bin. . Lights ~6hrs/day – works for me.
