Can anyone tell me if they’ve seen this kind of behaviour from a honey gourami before?? He keeps following my other gourami (whom I think may be female) and then putting himself into a vertical position. I looked it up and it says swim bladder issues but he’s swimming normally when it’s not in front of the other gourami and then as soon as the other gourami is near by he starts swimming vertically?? Is this a mating dance of some kind??

  1. I should also note that he doesn’t just do this at the top of the tank, he will also do it at the bottom if that’s where the other gourami is

He’s so freaking cute, but honestly this seems like a swim bladder issue. This tends to be their way of maintaining balance when their buoyancy is off. He needs to be warmed up, salted, and given an antibiotic before it gets past the point of return.
