wassap guys, I’m new to keeping fish and stuff (I did before but I keep them in a super small bowl 😭). I finally set up a tank for this guy with a heater set to I think 28 degrees C. He’s just chillin near the top n stuff. anything I should know and/or improve on?

I don’t see a filter. Do you have a filter? What water dechlorinator/treatment are you using?
More plants would be good. Get a few “betta hammocks” which are just anubais plans on a little suction cup. Longer finned bettas often rest on them, and the need a resting spot near the top.
More plants and if possible different substrate (e.g sand) to put plants in.
Maybe try and get a sponge filter as well and a little betta hammock for him.
Is the tank cycled?
Many more plants would be great. I would reduce the temperature to around 25 C.

i’d get an anubias barteri and stick the rhizome in the hole in the barrel decoration! maybe some floating plants too, they love a lot of plant cover
