Hey all, not new to tanks and Bettas, but are very new to live plants that are not going to be eaten in a week.

Brand new 36L tank with hanging filter Originally was planning on having a male beta and a school of ember tetras .

I wanted a more natural tank compared to my bigger tanks with coloured and fake gravel. So the gravel is mostly an expensive plant soil and some natural rocks on top per shops recommendation (not chain store very trusted) .

However I bought plants today as per the bag of said soil saying to add plants when setting up, is this too many and too dense? I’m kinda assuming I can’t have tetras since the plants took up too much room. But is it to much for even a single male Betta, I’ll either be getting a crown tail or half moon.

I do have two other tanks I can move some plants to if it’s too many.

  1. Your betta will appreciate all the plants! They like to rest on it and it also provides enrichment (they are very curious and like to explore). Ember tetras school together but they do like hiding together as well (in my experience with mine).
