Hi, so I have a 20 gallon tank I’d like to start up and eventually put a betta fish in. I’m looking into starting with an aquascape/plant tank until I get all my meters in check and the ammonia levels. I have went back through the community and read a bunch. I’ve read about the sponge filters and to never change them, tannin last forever with certain woods. A heater and filter are needed. I want advice on floating plants and if the items I’ve chose are sufficient.

Am I missing anything? I do want a grassy/leafy covering on the entire tank. I want it to be almost like a forest.
All this looks good but one thing i would recommend is a water test kit instead of the strips. The strips just aren’t as accurate and you might miss a spike in something with them. The API master kit is a good replacement!
