New fish owner (September). Tank cycled, water tested and levels OK. We started treating for swim bladder disease 07/11, currently on day 8 of a 12 day treatment. I’ve also treated the tank with aquarium salt. The spinning out of control only started a couple of days ago and I sense this isn’t SWD. Do I need to put it out of its misery? (The black molly is in the breeding box as he is bullying the poorly fish). Thanks.

I’m so sorry. This is so sad 😢. I’m far from an expert and maybe, hopefully, someone comes along and knows exactly what’s going on. But, to me, it looks like a broken fin or something. I had a fish that was netted roughly at the fish store that acted very much like this. He couldn’t swim straight do to a broken fin. He ended up dying within 24 hours. If yours is still alive after 12 days of treatment, it’s a fighter! Just based off my experience from that one fish and the way it’s acting, it looks like a broken fin to me. I don’t know if broken fins can heal or be repaired. Putting it down may be the humane thing to do sadly 😭. Even though the little guy is such a fighter and wants to live. Take everything I just said with a grain of salt though. Wait to see what other’s comment. Maybe someone knows better on what exactly is going on. Best of luck my friend and I hope the little guy pulls off a miracle!
