hi guys, its my first time on here and i need some advice. I’ve had this female betta for about 2 weeks now, when I looked at her this morning she looked off. She’s acting the same but her face is a lil round at the top. info: 4 gals, there’s a heater and a filter. Yes i have plastic plants i will be getting silk soon. also she sleeps on the suction cup that holds the heater should i get a leave or hammock or something

are her fins clamped? Is she eating and swimming a lot? Sorry you’re going through this, it’s really frustrating not knowing what’s wrong
What are your water parameters?
• Tank size: 4 gals
• Heater and filter? (yes/no): yes
• Tank temperature: 26 C
• Parameters in numbers and how you got them. Key water parameters include the amount of ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and pH.: everything is at zero except ammonia which is a lil green so i did a water change 20%
• How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: tank 3 months fish: 2 weeks
• How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: i do water changes every weekend abt 15-20%
• Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: no tank mates
• What do you feed and how much: nutrafin max flakes
• Decorations and plants in the tank: sadly all plastics but will be putting in silk and later on introducing real plants
Sounds like your tank isn’t cycled. You need to have 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and some nitrate for it to be cycled. Was it cycled before and it crashed or are you doing a fish in cycle?
Are you adding prime with your water changes?
