I use koolaid garlic chicken as bait and somehow they’ll actually eat it ( not as much as worms) but whenever I try to reel in the fish I can just never catch them. What size is the hook supposed to be? What could I be doing wrong? I use the Shakespeare Catch More Fish Spincast Combo

Maybe your hook is too big for their mouth to get around
Your best bet is to use a size 8 circle hook.
Smaller hooks will always help this problem
Your hook is almost definitely too big.
For smaller bluegill (4-6in) I highly recommend you use a size 10-12 hook. If the hook is too big they won’t be able to get it in their mouth and get hooked
