  1. If that is anubias, it needs its roots above the substrate. Mount it to a stick or rock. It feeds from the water column and will suffocate with its roots buried.

  2. Your stocking isn’t suitable for a 20G. Also all of the schooling fish do not have a big enough school.

As far as the tank goes, sand will slowly mix and sink through the black substrate so it’s not really a long term scape unfortunately.

  3. Your stocking will benefit from some adjustments. Both the yoyo and the dojo loaches will get way too big for 20G. Kuhlis will work well but they like to be in groups of 6+. I would return/re-home the two bigger loaches and get 5-6 more kuhlis as well as a couple more tetras to round them up to 6 as well.

Your kuhlis will love the sand, although they might also like more plants!

  4. Conceptually – I think it looks great. Strong underwater zen garden vibes that I like a lot

However, you need to replace those plants with some fully aquatic plants. Or at least move those so its only the roots in the water

(Ive done the same thing. It happens)
