you could try dimming the lights and covering the tank with a cloth. It might be because its looking at its reflection in the tank, thus flaring

So I should use like a towel or paper towel and cover all sides of the tank

Check the water temperature and push the heater close to the bottom. It looks big for that size tank, and also if it goes above the water level it will break.
I can’t tell for sure but it looks like it may have already been slightly exposed, which is enough for the heater to break.

I agree with others. If he’s flaring TOO much covering for a few days while he settles will help. If he’s not over doing it then he’s OK. Just getting angwy at himself 😅
Also, FYI having plants doesn’t necessarily mean no water changes, especially since your tank and fish are the same days old your tank is not cycled. If you know about cycling, great! If not I can share a guide for fish-in-cycling. I had to do it with my girl, I unknowingly bought a fish with what I thought was enough research lol. Lesson learned!!
