i’ve had my little guy since july, had cycled his tank since april before adding him. he had very pale red coloring and translucent fins and a pineconed patch of scales that went away after he had been in his new tank for a couple of days.
i noticed his fins have tears so i did a water change, had been using stress guard daily, as well as added cattapa leaves. but now i just noticed this white patch on the top of his body as well as a smaller patch on the side of his body. please help me with identification. im worried its ich or fin rot that spread to his body but im completely lost. i did buy kanaplex when i noticed his fins first but i have a mystery snail and a nerite as well as one remaining cherry shrimp so i wanted to try other methods first. i do have a five gallon with 6 embers i could move the invertebrates to if need be.
heater and filter present, temp is at 78. ammonia and nitrite both 0, nitrate 20ppm.

Does it look fuzzy? My betta had a similar issue a while back where he had white patches growing over him that looked almost fuzzy when you look up close under water.
