This is Bubbles, I work at a high school and have been asked to look after this fella. What type of betta is Bubbles? And does he look healthy to you?

not in my opinion. His colors are dull and his fins might be tore. Is he a crow tail?
Betta Splendens. The colour or variation doesn’t really matter for care requirements etc, it’s all marketing.
He looks kinda beat up.
The biggest improvement to his quality of life would be live plants instead of plastic, and testing water parameters to time water changes.
idk it looks like fin rot to me, I would still treat it with antibiotics (kanaplex) since that tail looks pretty torn. I know that some bettas have tails like that but still that doesn’t look normal
