maybe a tumor, maybe an injury? do you have water parameters?
Dragon scales have a tendency to grow tumors and there’s nothing you can really do about it other than keep the water clean and make her comfortable. My dragon scale has had a few tumors and is still going strong and is just as energetic as the day I got him. I saw in another comment you mentioned the water is at 74°, which is a little cold for bettas! They’re tropical and prefer 78° to 82° 🙂
