I don’t have a pic of how it looked yesterday, but i noticed there was a bit of algae growing a few days ago – and dude the difference between yesterday and today is at least 3 fold. In all honesty it’s kind of impressive, if i was attempting to grow algae intentionally i’d be doing rly good not gonna lie.
I turned the light down and will be buying electrical tape to tape off every other node so it dims it even more and will reduce the hours on it, will start doing weekly water changes, and am going to switch from flakes to pellets.
any other suggestions on how to contain this before it gets unmanageable?

Also need more live plants. What are your water parameters?.
Yeah more plants will help. Also nerite snails love algae but make sure you are feeding them something with protein as well.
Live plants! And I dont mean slow growing anubias and java ferns, I mean hungry fast growing stuff like floaters, rotalas, pearlweed, valisneria, java moss, anacharis, water wisteria and watersprite, etc. Not to mention, the betta will 100% enjoy having more plant cover! 🙂
Don’t have lights on more than 8 hours a day
