Got my first betta in a 10 gal. He had Popeye (which I also named him) so I researched & ordered meds to treat it. Was at petco and saw Capulet on the brink of death. Knowing I had meds, I decided to buy him and try to rehab him-otherwise he would have suffered. Have been floating him in my 10 gal to keep warm in a critter tank covered in a bag. Initially worried he wouldn't make it but this week he has transformed. Found him a new home and they are currently cycling their 5 gal in preparation for him. They named him Capulet. I think it was swim bladder and ammonia burn. Anyway take a look I'm so proud and excited! Never knew how interactive and rewarding fish could be!!
I know he isn't out of the woods yet. His fins clamp, he's weak and his nervous system is sensitive. every day I track his behavior and upload photos into chat gpt to track his progress-I'm new to fish but observant. He ate a soaked pellet 2 days in a row and isn't floating sideways. I am open to any advice and trying my best to be ethical and caring. Keeping it dark and quiet, trying not to disturb him. I know he is still weak and not ready to be moved yet. Will do whatever is best for him and trust his new parent who already has another betta. Any helpful advice welcomed.

He really needs a proper tank. I rescued one with very similar conditions, just needed clean, fresh water and tannins. Frozen/thawed brine shrimp are great for rehabbing bettas. Just remember their stomach is about as big as their eye!
