Has anyone assembled a new Fluval Nano filter (just out of the box). I just took out the filter pump mechanism and the L-shaped spot that is supposed to fit in or on that pump in a round hole on top. For the life of me I can’t see how it fits together because both round holes don’t fit together. I could not force it in. It’s like they are the same size. I am stumped. Fluval hasn’t answered my email yet though it is a weekend. Anyone experienced with this unit?

SPOUT not “spot”
Sorry never had this but can you take a photo of the spout and hole, spout hole facing us and hole showing. See if there is a specific orientation that there is some sort of keyway for it to go in then you can spin it to the orientation you want.
