hello! i found an old tank in my family storage, it’s rough 6 gallons if my math is right. i’m hoping to get a long fin betta in a few months, after cycling the tank, and potentially a few shrimp or bottom dwellers. but i worry that the size for a betta + bottom dwellers will be too small.
i know bigger is better, ideally closer to 10 gallons, but i haven’t had a betta in years and im starting small.
advice is very much appreciated!!
thanks

If you do this one make sure you have tall swords or other large leaves for the betta to rest on near the top, they prefer length over height but overall it wouldn’t be a deal breaker if set up correctly. Best of luck!

  2. I don’t know if it’s just the perspective but it really doesn’t look like 6 gallons. What are the dimensions?

  3. also i’m totally open to buying a new tank! it’s more important to me to have a good setup than to stick with a budget.
