A chip on the outside of my 12 gallon rimless tank. Right at the top. Really torn about this. Thanks very much for any help!

I’m inclined to say this is fine, especially because it’s on the very top, but I’m no glass expert

Doesn’t look that bad

Id keep using it.
If you are concerned you could place a “rim” over that section to reinforce it or put some suitable epoxy to fill the chip.

Id say you’ll be fine, just keep an eye on. Check it daily to make sure a crack doesnt form.

You’re probably ok since it’s right at the top and looks like a clean break. You could add a little silicon to the spot to help prevent future damage and cover any sharp edges.

I agree with the rimming idea. Rims give aquariums a lot of support and would also protect the sharp edge.
