my betta keeps on doing what seems to be glass surfing non-stop since yesterday and i’m so worried because it’s exactly how my last betta acted a couple days before he died.
: water parameters are completely normal
: filter flow is very soft
: he has been very healthy and active for the 3 weeks i have had him
: i’ve tried to cover the side of the tank with a black tshirt to see if he is reacting to his reflection but he gets VERY stressed (stands his fins straight up & flares continuously, second vid shows him after i’ve taken the shirt off the tank).
the only thing i can think of is i accidentally added what i think to be a bit too much seachem flourish into the tank yesterday & he then started to act like this.
as soon as i noticed his behaviour (probably about an hour later) i did a 50% water change because i was scared that the water became toxic for him.
it was probably about a drop or two over the normal amount (guessing) so i don’t know if it is actually why he’s acting like this?
he acts more agitated when im not near the tank.
i am so worried, i really love him, he’s such a beautiful fish and i will be so upset if i caused him this stress & potential death.
any help will be appreciated 🙏🏼🙏🏼

just to note: i have turned the lights off to help him with his stress & he seems a bit better- swimming to other sides of the tank, but is still doing the whole up and down.
