I don't have any fish, shrimp, or snails the only living things are plants. I'm waiting to get paid to get shrimp.
Is it too much? What should I do?? I have 1 piece of wood in there from Petco or PetSmart (I can't remember, think it was Petco tho). I rinsed it before I put it in but it's just gotten worse
Last photo is from November 29. The first 4 are from today (December 1)
Also I'll probably do a water change soon OR just add more water. Depends on what y'all say

Which kinds of tannins did you use? The color kinda reminds me of Kool-Aid 😅
Honestly, I would’ve just left it as it is, tannins usually clear up on their own with time. You could check the pH just in case, but if your water is really hard, I doubt it changed much at all.
Soak it in a bucket for a few days, it’ll get the Tannins out and also get it water logged if that’s a problem. Tannins aren’t bad as far as I know, but I can agree that it doesn’t make the tank look good.
Run Seachem Purigen in your filter. It’ll pull all the tannins out.
Tannins are beneficial for aquariums but with shrimp, you’ll want to prioritize water parameters stability. Do your water changes now and regularly. You should probably monitor the ph, kh and might as well gh. The acid will lower your pH and kh and it can become inhospitable for shrimp.
Boil the wood, change the water, and accept some tannins.
I’m actually in the process of boiling oak leaves to add tannins into my tank. The darker environment will bring out more color in fish as they’re more comfortable.
It’s also an antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic.
