Rescued this extremely neglected pea puffer (I’m surprised he’s even alive). I didn’t have any extra tanks, but I was able to get a free 5 gallon from someone on marketplace. Put together the planted 5 gallon and acclimated the puffer before adding him.
I took the heater from my shrimp tank since I don’t have any extras, and put it in the 5 gallon so it hopefully starts warming up. I did also use cycled water from my 15 gallon tank along with used filter media, so hopefully the tank should fully cycle soon.
Will this little puffer be alright? Any suggestions to make the tank better? He already seemed to be inspecting the bladder snails that ended up in the tank with the plants, so hopefully that’s a good sign

Get some frozen food for him, hopefully he goes after those snails to fatten him up. I would look into getting some more, 6 is recommended for a proper shoal. Be a good idea to deworm them as they are almost always wild caught besides a few random vendors that sell out fast.
