Ok, so I got two mystery snails for my 10gal tank that houses my betta, George. Well, George is bullying them. The snails are hiding bc George nips at their antennas (poor little guys). I got a 5.5gal tank on sale for Black Friday and was thinking of moving George there and putting different fish in the 10gal George is currently in. How mad would he be if I downsized him? He does swim around quite a bit.

5.5 gallons is fine, you just have to do more water changes and pay more attention to water perimeters. (Particularly ammonia spikes.) Some bettas prefer smaller tanks, not super small, but roughly 5-6 gallons.
in my opinion, should be fine. He has long fins, so a 5.5 would be perfect.
Why don’t you just put the snails in the 5 gallon? Is that not easier? Or is this just because you want to put more fish in this tank
