I’ve had my boy for a while now and he’s been great until recently I’ve noticed one of his gills are out but he’s not flaring. He flares like normal when i give him a little mirror time but his left gill just sticks out all the time. I just added an algae eater to the tank and thought it could be because of that but i feel like I’ve noticed it before i got it.

He could have sprained his gill plate! I have had it happen before with my boy, don’t worry it’s not permanent and it’s kinda normal if when he flares he flares big. Just keep an eye on it and try to keep him from flaring for a few days!
