  1. you’re gonna have to give us some more info………

how long have you had him?

what are your water parameters? tank size? tank mates?

  2. I have had him for a year. He’s in a 75 gallon, water parameters should be good all the other fish are happy. I will test. He may have had the ick, but I gave him medicine and did the water change with new carbon after. He seemed fine this morning

  3. diecastbeatdown on

why do you keep saying water parameters are fine? give us numbers, what kit are you using so we can understand the numbers, etc.

  4. Swim bladder is messed up could be a number of things unfortunately some cant be cured. Keep an eye on him do water changes lower how much you feed.

  5. In my experience, this looks like swim bladder disease. Essentially they lose control of their buoyancy and float around/roll upside down. I haven’t had much luck saving my fish when this has happened sadly, but I know some people have found success quarantining them and putting them in an epsom salt bath (epsom salt with no additives, scents etc) to help with their digestion as sometimes this is caused by over eating. I’d youtube videos on swim bladder disease to see remedies. Best of luck!

  6. How’s the aeration in the tank? Ich meds are known to deplate oxygen. I had an angelfish almost die of low oxygen that displayed symptoms like this, especially the heavy breathing. Add an emergency air stone if you don’t have one.

  7. Stomach is bloated badly, likely some internal parasite or infection. Normally metronidazole with Epsom salts might have helped if caught early but at this stage where the fish can’t even swim or hold itself upright it’s as good as gone

  8. He’s likely not going to make it. Looks like swim bladder disease. But, we’ll pray he pulls thru.
