I’m going on vacation around mid February and I wanted to know how you guys were able to take care of your tanks if you had gone to vacation for about two weeks. I’ve seen automatic feeders, but I’ve never tried it.
I also have a cat that needs to be taken care of, so I was wondering how you guys feel about having someone feeding the fish . I’m a bit weary because I don’t want them to be overfed and by the time I come back, there is any problems with the tanks parameters etc and my fishies.
I’m also planning on doing a huge water change before I travel to make sure that the parameters remain stable during my time away. I have pothos which is helping immensely keeping nitrates at around 10-20ppm
Any suggestions, advice, speak from experience, will really help. Thank you all in advance.

For two-three weeks I do nothing; the fish will be fine
Water change seems good and make sure your heater/filter is all working right. If someone is coming to watch your cat you could leave some proportioned fish food in one of those plastic pill organizers so they don’t over feed!
I’ve never done it but I feel like the automated feeder would be the best.. try it or for a week or so before you leave. Under feed the fish on the safe side.
I’n a mature tank nothing drastic should happen
I know you wanted advice for the vacation but just saying your tanks look beautiful
Top tank: 55g two 110 tidal and 1 air bubbler / stone
Bottom: 20g one 55 tidal and 1 air bubbler / stone
