Betta fish have a labyrinth organ that helps them take breaths of air, this is because they adapted in areas with stagnant water and limited oxygen supply.

Fun fact: make sure your Betta fish always have access to air, yeah they can use their gills to breathe but the act of swimming up to the surface and taking the breath is so instinctual they get stressed out if they can’t do it

  2. Theyre little weirdos. I’ve seen some that throw hissy fits and play dead after a water change or something, definitely impressionable! Their own little personalities
