Found him when I was looking into a water tank. Rescued him, not sure if he is helthy. He eats pellets if I break it and feed him. I don't have a full fledged set up and I temporarily placed him in an old aquarium tank I had. So I have a few questions
1. What type of beta is he ?
2. Is he healthy. I'm not sure if he has fin rot or some other issue
3. Suggest a simple set up where I can keep him happy. A minimal maintanace setup would be helpful.
Thanks in advance

Min 5 gallon, 10 more optimal in space. Heater, filter (low flow), hiding cave(s)/hardscape, plants- live if you can swing it but silk will do. Get water conditioner and some sort of bio kickstart product (Seachem stability as example) so you can do a fish-in cycle. His body condition looks well enough but I don’t have experience with long finned babies so I can’t speak to his fin condition other than plastic decor can rip them pretty easily and cause immune system issues as a result. He’s beautiful! Good luck and thank you for saving him 🙏🏼💗
Above advice, but I prefer Fritz turbo 700 or dr. Tim’s one and only for cycling bacteria. Or good or ask a local fish store for used media.
He looks like a half moon betta!
The biggest issue is you’ll have to do a fish in cycle an id do a lot of research on nitrite, nitrate and ammonia and how to cycle the tank, I’ve recently just done a lot of research and it’s very important to ensure the betta will be okay. You can get a API master test kit which is pricy but worth it ($35), or test strips which are much cheaper.
I also recommend seachem stability
And 5 gallon tank with a heater and filter, live plants are a plus.
One tip to help with stress as this is a fish in cycle is Indian almond leaves. They release tannins in the water that calm bettas, good luck
