I know having hard water can make their fins curl abit which I’m gradually bringing down the ph with tannins. I just feel like something is off, ph in between 7.0-7.2, ammonia is 0, nitrites are 0, and nitrates are 0 aswell. He is still eating fine and is still swimming around, I feel like he might acting abit off because I just switched him from a 10 gallon to the 6.5 gallon due to the original owner of this home having smaller fins and needing more space. He is behaving pretty much the same as he did in the 10 gallon to this 6.5 but he is resting alot more on the foliage, which to be fair there is more suitable resting spots in this tank for him then the other one.

  2. Here is the reason I had him for about half a month without a cycled tank. I had the tank cycled after alittle over 2 weeks with one of the packs that came in with the sand I got for the tank, then got my fish. Then stupidly I boiled a shit ton of almond leaves and wood to make “betta tea” which I saw TikTok (which now know is one of the worst places to get info) and put it ALL in my tank and crashed my cycled! So I had to do a fish in cycle and he did fine throughout the whole thing, now we are here and I don’t want to give him a bad life

Not fin rot. But, Stop adding more tannins for now.
You already crashed your cycle once. Let the tank stabilize. Check for anything sharp.
Run a sock across the driftwood. If it snags → remove or sand it. Ph is perfect.
