I need help with my tank!! I hate my substrate, it’s hard to clean and my water wisteria is growing so out of hand, these snails won’t stop reproducing despite me not overfeeding, and I am stuck. This tank needs to be redone but until I can do that I am lost. Criticism is really appreciated and I need tips! Please.

I forgot to add that there is algae growing on the java fern (this is what the store said it was at least..) and an odd brown colour on the filter..? I feel like a failure. I am so afraid.
It looks great imo! You can trim the Water Wisteria or just remove it and replace it with different plants! You technically could remove/replace your substrate but it could cause some issues with your parameters since you’d be removing a lot of the beneficial bacteria. I personally like smaller gravel and sand for my substrates! If you don’t want to remove it you could maybe just cap it with sand. As for the snails, its pretty difficult to get rid of them once they start breeding. My two bettas will eat tiny ones so it helps keep the population in check but you could try “trapping” them with a piece of cucumber or zucchini. Another option is to get an Assassian Snail.
You can float a piece of cabbage on top to attract the snails and remove them. The color is just the driftwood. I would move the fern and heater to the side or back as well as some of the gravel. With only a betta you don’t need to clean gravel, just give it time.
Hey, chill out! Everything is very normal. Firstly, fill the tank up to the top. If the wisteria is growing too much, cut it down a bit. You can replant the cuttings into the substrate after. If the snails are taking over (which it doesnt look like yet), you might want to cut back on feeding even more. There might also be enough algae and dead organic matter for them to eat, so if you spot your plants not doing very well that might be the problem. For how long do you leave your light on?
Looks FAB. get some neocardinia shrimp, they’ll sort your algae. Is it tiny bladder snails?if so order some assassin snails (lay 1 egg a day compared to hundreds of bladders) assassins will keep your bladder snail issue down.
