Yesterday I found the remains of all my 6-9 month kuhlis in my 130L. There are pleco babies so they were stripped but not long passed. I removed all their bodies.
I found 2 still alive, one passed not long after and this is the last survivor.
About a week ago I added 4 new tiny kuhlis, maybe 8cm long.
Could they have brought a parasite that would have this reaction?
The tank has been struggling with imbalance but nothing mental and I do water changes weekly on this tank to keep it in check. I double the filter size on the tank a week ago to help the cloudiness and its been clear since. Working on bringing the calcium and alkaline back.
Can I save this loach?

How old is the tank, is it cycled and what are your parameters ( temp, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, GH, KH etc)?
Do you use a dechlorinator? What’s your stock? Anything added to the tank?
These questions will help us help. Kuhlis can be sensitive and the clues will be in the answers to what is going on.
Thanks
Kuhlis are often wild caught, can carry parasites. But I do think the root cause imho is the overstock. Hmmm. Tough one
just my impression, kuhliis dont like to be under strong light, esp if they dont find a place to hide. The sterile insert right under your light sourse is enormous stressful for them. I got 4 kuhlis a while ago and I noticed they were initally very nervous, swmming up and down on the screen, until i added more structure and places to hide. now I dont see them so often, thy com out mostly at night, but they seem happy
I see you have plants in your tank. Do you use any fertilizers or liquid CO2?
