
My betta fish is in perfect 26L high tech planted community tank with neon tetras, corydoras and few other tetras which are peaceful. But betta fins are torn at the edges like this for past 2 months and can’t get rid of it despite doing salt bath in separate container. Any experienced people help would be appreciated!

- Heater and filter? (yes/no): Yes and HOB filter with bio & mech filter medias
- Tank temperature: 24.5ºC
- Parameters in numbers and how you got them. Key water parameters include the amount of ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and pH.: NH3 is 0ppm, NO2 is 0ppm, NO3 is 5ppm & pH is 6
- How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: 3 months and 2 months
- How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: Weekly RO changes, 50% change, siphon out old water and add RO water by cup
- Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: Neon tetras: 6, Corydoras: 5, Siamese algae eater: 2, Nerite snail: 3, Blood fin tetra: 1, Red eye tetra: 1, Glowlight tetra: 1, Red phantom tetra: 3
- What do you feed and how much: Freeze dried bloodworms and Tetrabits Complete fish food
- Decorations and plants in the tank: Heavily planted CO2 planted tank

Oh wow! He’s gorgeous 😍
From what I’m seeing in the picture, I’ve got good news for you! That’s just his genetics! It’s a bit like the genes that cause the crowntail fins, where the rays extend further out than the membrane does. I’m not seeing any fuzzy or rough fraying in that beautiful photo. The white tips are new growth that hasn’t been pigmented yet.
