forgive the reddish lighting, it’s a grow lamp. but the plant’s color is accurate!
Water seemed to not be flowing from my sponge filter despite bubbles coming out at a good speed. I reached into the tube and pulled out this plant. The tendrils were tough like hornwort stems, and snapped cleanly when pulled without any fibers. The tissue was translucent and jagged. I examined them for stoma like one might find on a carnivorous plant, but didn't see any. You’ll also note that the plant seems to have a central node from which the tendrils extend.
Google is, unfortunately, useless. Any ideas?

Are the tendrils hollow or solid?
I think it might be staghorn algae, I’ve had it before and it also went crazy like this on my intake filter sponge.
Unless I just have staghorn algae and something else mysterious.
Looks like some kind of [thorea](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thorea) but you’d expect more color. Weird!
Staghorn algae of some kind
