I have a short fin male betta currently residing in a 10 gallon tank, I was wondering if I should move him into this 20 gallon long and add some tank mates. I originally got this tank for Gouramis but now I think I should skip on them and treat my boy to something better.
If I do move him in when the tank is ready and cycled, what tank mates should he do good with?

I mean actually it depends how your betta is with the other fish, like min i could put with angelfish or guppies but not with siamees algea eaters. Or with shrimp.
Also put as much plants as you can bettas love to rest
You could totally just do him in the tank, it would for sure be like a mansion for the guy lol
Corys are usually safe bets
larger cories will shrug off bullying bettas to an extent. i’d keep him in a 15-20g alone tbh. even if ur betta isn’t aggressive initially, they might get angry and bully ur fish later on. they really are solitary fishies. in a community tank, other fish will suffer, hide and won’t be as playful coz of the betta
