Sorry for the not so great pictures.
I've been having issues with cyanobacteria in this tank for a while now. I tried medication (Oceanlife CyanoX) and still persisted. Now I did 5 full days of blackout, tank completely covered with aluminium foil and towels, this is the situation now. As you can see, the cyano is still there, alive and kicking. Sure, some died, but if even a bit stays alive then it's gonna grow again, I fear. I don't know what to do at this point. Should I do another day or two of blackout? Or what products would you suggest?
Water parameters are:
Ph: 7.0
Kh: 3
Gh: 7
Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 0 (I know it's not optimal, I'm trying to fertilize more but of course now there's no fish in the tank and it dropped to 0 again)
I also have a product in the filter to lower phosphates.

You need to fertilise through it, get those nitrates up
me too
its a gram positive baterial. you can manually remove as much as you can, do a nice size water change then start treatment with fitz maracyn. follow directions and you will see results
What’s the flow rate like in your tank?
Remove dead or sick looking plants and increase the flow rate on your filter (or upgrade to a better one.) Clean out the existing cyanobacteria. Start adding an all in one fertilizer and be sure to follow dosing instructions. Be consistent. Keep light at a minimum for a couple of weeks. (6 hours/day)
I was well into 4th month with my tank !
Then i noticed cyano appear, funnily i had 0 nitrates as well.
I started dosing seachem nitrogen thrice a week, and increased amount of APT 3 which i regularly use !
And the cyano went away !
Chemiclean saved my 60g! 2 doses and it was all gone.
Cyano USUALLY speaks to a nutrient deficiency thats causing your plants to not utilize all the phosphate in the water. “Bottomed out” nitrates is the main cause in the saltwater world; so I’d also check that. It sounds counter intuitive, but maybe try a fertilizer that has a lot of nitrogen, and has some iron and potassium. Hell, if theres no fish, you could also dose raw ammonia
This isn’t a substitute for the meds, just in addition to it, to help your plants win. I never had any luck with beating cyano without meds. Its too damn hardy, and seems to always come back, no matter how much progress there is against it…
